What the site knows about you
Sherbz is a static website. It has no account or newsletter. This page describes the technical requests, contact form and external services used by the site.
Cookies
Sherbz does not set its own cookies. Video covers are served by Sherbz. No request is sent to Meta while you browse the site.
Instagram videos
Each cover opens the original Instagram post in a new tab. The site does not embed a Meta player. Instagram receives a request only after you choose to open a post.
Meta’sprivacy practicesthen apply to what Instagram observes.
Traffic analytics
Sherbz uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-free measurement tool, to understand which pages are read. It counts visits in aggregate, including page views, country of origin and browser type. It does not create profiles, track anyone across websites or allow the team to connect a visit to a person.
The contact form
The form does not upload anything to the site. When you select Send, it opens your own mail app with a pre-filled message. The site does not receive the form contents.
The message received by the team contains what you chose to write: your name, return address and message. The team uses it to handle your request.
Hosting
Cloudflare serves the site and processes technical logs along the way, including IP address, requested page and timestamp, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare may process this technical data outside Quebec. TheCloudflare privacy policydescribes its practices.
The map
When you open The Sherbz Map, your browser downloads the map background fromOpenFreeMap, a service with no account or tracker. As with any web request, your IP address is sent to that server so it can respond. Directions open in Google Maps, on Google’s website or app, under Google’s own terms.
Your preferences
Your day or night mode choice is stored in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. It is not sent to a server. Clearing your browsing data also clears this choice.
External links
The guide links to real places through their websites, Instagram or Facebook pages and Google Maps directions. Once you leave sherbzqc.ca, the policies of those services apply. Our ownInstagram andFacebookpages are subject to Meta’s terms.
Your rights
Quebec’s Law 25 gives you the right to access personal information held about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent. At Sherbz, this information may include messages you sent us. To exercise a right, use thecontact form or send a private message onInstagram orFacebook. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with theCommission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
